Description:
Marwell Zoological Park is located 6 miles from Winchester in Hampshire. The Zoo is set in 100 acres of Hampshire countryside and has a wide selection of animals from almost every continent.
Some of the animals that you can discover at Marwell in Hampshire are white rhinos, Amur tigers, cheetah’s, zebra’s, giraffe’s, tamarins, macaques, gibbons, and leopards, infact you can see almost 200 species at the zoo.
The Park is heavily involved with the conservation of endangered species. This was the main aim of John Knowles, the founder of the park, when it was set up in 1972. You can learn more about endangered species and other facts in the education centre.
Marwell in Hampshire is best enjoyed on foot but there are road and rail trains for different views of the zoo. There’s a large Gift Shop, an adventure playground and themed events during the year. Food & drink can be purchased within the park and there is free parking nearby.
